New Videos from the Studio
FlashBack has not been able to play together for almost a year now due to COVID-19. That does not prevent us form making music (together while apart). Parts of this sound track was recorded in each member's home recording studio and then shared via internet to put all of the tracks together into one song. The tracks were mixed and mastered and then this video was produced to celebrate the insurmountable power of music during the COVID-19 lock-down. We can't wait to get back to live performances but we will continue to make music no matter what.
The audio for this creation was recorded during a live stream event we did during the COVID lockdown in 1921. The video was created from pictures of Susan Boyd Van Exan’s garden at Nogies Creek. They were taken over a number of years between 2017 and 2021. Somehow the song and the images bring each other to life.
This is a great tune originally done by Van Morrison in 1970. One music critic described Moondance as "one of those rare songs that manages to implant itself on the collective consciousness of popular music, passing into the hallowed territory of a standard, a classic."
It has become a FlashBack favorite due to the soft jazz swing feel to it and the fabulous walking base line created by John Klingburg in the original song. Hope you like our version and the video we put together based on images of dance intertwined with the lore of Irish "Moon Fairies". Lots of fun for us while we are waiting out COVID-19.
Second version of You Don't Know Me. We each recorded our parts for this at home. It was mixed and mastered by Paul Connors and then sent to Rob Van Exan to drop into a video format. Hope you like it.

Opening the second set New Year's Eve with Takin Care of Business - Nothin more Canadian than that. We had a great turn out at the Lions & Sun Bar & Grill in Sharon Ontario. Thanks to the proprietors for being great hosts and making sure everyone was well fed and not lacking for full glasses to wash it all down.
Everyone loves to groove to this tune.
